Maths Homework for Mon. 18th.

Don't forget there is maths homework to give in on Monday. Zac and Lauren Crowther gave theirs in before the snow knocked the best laid plans of mice and men all askew.
Hope you're all enjoying your extended holiday by doing extra reading and background research about the South Wales coal industry.
Don't forget anyone willing to share their knowledge with the class about their experience of the mining industry please get in touch.

Blwyddyn Newydd Da 2010/ Happy New Year 2010.

Eventually, we get back to school!
Hope parents and children had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year.
The class theme for this term is "Black Gold" which is exploring the influences of the discovery of coal in South Wales and the resulting socio-economic consequences.
If there are any parents or grandparents out there willing to share their knowledge and experiences of the industry with the children of the class please contact me and we can arrange a time suitable for both parties. Some of you may have artifacts you are willing to lend to the class for a short time. I promise they will be well looked after and returned at the end of the term.
In the next week or two there will be a brief outline of other links to our topic sent home with your children so everyone can see where we hope to go in the next twelve weeks or so.
As last term a maths homework folder will be given to each child, to be completed by the end of each half-term.
English homework will be follow up/extension work to that done in school. Much of the homework will be focusing on developing higher skills of; evaluating evidence, recognising bias and opinion and responding with logical, well reasoned counter opinions.
